Install
One binary from crates.io or an attested release archive.
ahi is a single Rust binary. Install it from crates.io:
cargo install ahi --locked
Linux hosts can take the release archive instead. ahi update downloads the checksums and the archive for the current target, verifies both against their GitHub build-provenance attestations with the gh CLI, and renames the new binary over the running one. A target it cannot verify is refused. macOS and Windows use cargo install.
Every release carries archives for Linux x86_64 and aarch64 and Windows x86_64, plus a sha256sums.txt, on the releases page.
First commands
ahi doctor # versions, directories, hook policy, tool policy, sandbox
ahi tui # pick a model and open the chat
ahi run # run the pre-commit checks on staged files
ahi doctor reports whether the working directory has an ahi.tools.yaml, how many rules approve, ask, and deny, and which tools the chat will advertise.
